Tamarack Protection Socks with GlideWear
Tamarack Protection Socks with GlideWear Low Friction Zone are available in forefoot, partial foot, midfoot, and heel/ankle.
GlideWear improves user safety and comfort by helping prevent and heal soft tissue damage. GlideWear is a patented silk-like two-layer fabric, manufactured by Tamarack Habilitation Technologies, designed to protect skin and soft tissue from the damaging effects of rubbing/friction.
The stretchy, slippery, low-friction interface (CoF = 0.2) between the two fabric layers of GlideWear protects the wearer from the friction forces which are a major factor responsible for soft tissue damage such as foot blisters, ulcers, sores and pressure injuries. It is strategically included as a discreet panel sewn into or onto only those locations which are known or expected to experience damaging levels of friction/rubbing. GlideWear is a bi-elastic, breathable, and vapor-permeable material that stretches to conform to body contours, but it is not intended to function as a compression or volume control garment. GlideWear will typically reduce friction forces by 50% to 80%.
